Show Notes

The Easiest Rose Cutter from FMM can be seen here.

Thank you to Satin Ice and Mary Carmen Gonzalez of MCG Cake Design for donating the prize of a bucket of burgundy fondant to Haley Boykin, winner of the informal contest from Episode 20.

Jarid’s winning Teen entry from the 2015 Austin show can be seen here, his pizza cake can be seen here, and his ice cream octopus cake is here. His current class listings can be found here.

The cake I made for Peo featuring a ridiculous 7-everything dog is here, and the pirate treasure chest cake that melted is here.

My go-to favourite cake recipe by the BBC is here, except I lower the sugar to 300g and up the cocoa to 95g. This is the one I refer to as “self-leveling” because at 8″, it always flattens out as it cools. Remember: this recipe uses UK ingredients and may not produce the same results elsewhere in the world.

The basic British sponge cake recipe I mentioned is here.

Mike McCarey’s Craftsy class about making popped-up 2D cakes is here.
