Episode 5 – June 15, 2017 – Jessica Leigh Clark-Bojin, Devrah Otten, Heather Sherman

On this episode, I speak with Jessica Leigh Clark-Bojin of PiesAreAwesome.com all about how she’s pushing the boundaries of decorative pies, and we issue an informal challenge for listeners. Devrah Otten shares a story about how she survived a baking disaster, and Heather Sherman of Art2Eat Cakes gives us some cakefirmations and a chat about finding value in creative ways when making cakes for others.

Show Notes

Jessia’s website now includes a sales page for her Pie Guides as well as her blog and more. You can buy her book at Amazon and Amazon UK and probably other Amazons as well by searching for the title “Pie-Modding”.

Be sure to follow her on Instagram and subscribe to her YouTube Channel. And you can see her old Kickstarter with its amusing video and great stretch goals here.

Some of the pies we spoke about on the show can be seen in these amazing videos:

The Alton Brown “Good Eats” episode I referenced with puppets is called “Crust Never Sleeps” if you can find a copy of it somewhere to watch (I can’t, partially because of geoblocking).

You can now join the Eat the Evidence Community on Facebook to participate in the pie challenge or talk about the show in general. It’s “closed” to keep out spammers but just ask to join and I’ll add people as often as I can.

Heather’s Pork Princess cake can be seen here and my Bleeding Rat cake is here for those who want to see our “bartered” cakes for pork and astrophysics!
